The object of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the Holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation in Mary's and the Church's work. The unit of the Legion is called a praesidium, which holds a weekly meeting where prayer is intermingled with reports and discussion. Members participate in the life of the parish through apostolic works.
Responsibilities: Daily prayer to include the Rosary and Tessera. Active members perform many Legionary works in the spirit of faith in union with the Blessed Mother Mary and Holy Spirit. Works include visitations to nursing homes, hospitals and the home bound among others. The Legions' works promote personal contacts and is under the director of the Pastor of St. Bernadette Church to serve the needs of the church and its parishioners.
Time Commitment: ACTIVE MEMBER: weekly meetings at St. Bernadette on Saturdays 9:00 AM-10:30AM; AUXILIARY MEMBER: Daily praying of the rosary and Tessera, 30 minutes a day in your own home.
