To integrate our life in faith with the practice of nursing so that parishioners can achieve health, healing and wholeness of mind, body and spirit to strengthen our faith community. The Parish Nurse will provide health and wellness programs for families and advocate for those in need.
Responsibilities - The Parish Nurse is an active Florida license professional registered nurse practicing under the scope of the Florida Nurse practice act and follows all rules and regulations established be the Diocese of Palm Beach. The Parish Nurse's primary responsibility is to care for our parishioners. This is achieved by providing health and wellness education, advocacy, assessment and referral to community-based agencies and encouraging a gearing relationship with God. The ministry is also actively engaged with other church ministries to achieve these goals.
Helpful Attributes - The ability to be kind and compassionate, can listen and be empathetic, likes to help others and is attentive to parish needs. The parish nurse has knowledge of local community resources in order to refer parishioners in need of services as appropriate.
Time Commitment - Varies with educational programs and activities as scheduled. The ministry meets monthly for one hour for planning and reporting.
Training Required - Must be an active license RN in good standing with the State of Floride with CEU compliance and maintain BLS CPR and AED training. Malpractice insurance is required. AHCA level III screening required.
Fingerprinting Required - Yes. Protective God's Children training course required
